Saif Ali Khan met and hugged auto driver Bhajan Singh Rana. This is the same auto driver who took him to the hospital after the knife attack on January 16. The actor's mother Sharmila Tagore thanked and blessed him. Saif met the Hero auto driver who took him to the hospital on Thursday night. They had a brief meeting of about five minutes before the actor was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday. Saif hugged Rana and thanked him for his good work.

Speaking to India Today TV, driver Bhajan Singh Rana recalled the night of the incident. He said that as soon as Saif Ali Khan sat in his autorickshaw, his first question was, how long will it take to reach the hospital? He said, 'I was driving the auto fast and suddenly I heard a voice from the gate. A woman was shouting for help from near the main gate and was saying stop the rickshaw. Initially, I did not know that he was Saif Ali Khan.'

'Along with a small child and...'

The auto driver also said that Saif was able to walk and get into the vehicle. He said, 'Saif Ali Khan himself came to me and sat in the auto. He was in an injured state. There was a small child and another person with him. Immediately after sitting in my auto, Saif Ali Khan asked me how much time it would take. We reached the hospital in eight to ten minutes.'

The driver further said, 'He was bleeding from his neck and back. His white kurta had turned red and there was a lot of blood. I did not even charge the fare. I feel good that I could help him at that time.' In fact, Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times by an intruder during an attempted theft at his Bandra house on January 16. After the attack, he was taken to Lilavati Hospital in an autorickshaw at 2.30 pm, where he underwent two surgeries.
