Saharanpur, following traffic rules has not become a habit of people in Saharanpur district. Due to this, road accidents are increasing continuously. According to the traffic department, 63 road accidents have occurred in the district during the last three months in which 54 people have lost their lives and a large number of people have been injured. SP Traffic Siddharth Verma said today that his department is issuing a large number of challans for violating the rules. 58940 drivers have been challaned for driving without helmets. More than 9 thousand people have been found driving without license.
Siddharth Verma said that if people follow the traffic rules properly, then accidents can be reduced. In the road accidents that took place in the months of March, April and May, the only lamp of a house was extinguished, somewhere the woman of the house became a widow and somewhere some children became orphans. Verma told that maximum road accidents in the district took place in Sarsawa police station area, in which seven people died and five were injured. In 10 accidents in Deoband Kotwali area, six people died and 12 were injured. In Mirzapur police station area, four people died and 13 were injured in 10 accidents. 54 people died and a large number of people were injured in accidents in 16 police station areas of the district.
