Sarangpur, Former Municipal Council President Rupal Pramod Sadani is setting an inspiring example to express gratitude and boost the morale of the brave soldiers of the Indian Army who guard the nation's borders day and night. Rupal Sadani has been handcrafting beautiful Rakhis (Raksha Sutras) every year on the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan for the past 12 years without fail. This year too, she has continued this tradition and created special Rakhis for the soldiers.
Rakhis reach through the Ministry of Defense
These handmade Rakhis are sent directly to the Ministry of Defense Headquarters in New Delhi via speed post. From there, the Ministry delivers these Rakhis, along with Kumkum and Akshat, to the soldiers deployed on the borders of the country. Twenty-five Rakhis are distributed through the main checkpoints in each border area, ensuring that the soldiers protecting the country in the harsh cold, scorching heat, and heavy rains remain without any wrists and feel that the entire nation stands with them.
A Long History of Service and Dedication
Mrs. Sadani's service is not limited to making Rakhis. She has deep compassion for the country's soldiers and their families. Even during her tenure as Municipal President, she demonstrated unparalleled dedication, donating her entire salary for 17 months, totaling ₹81,600, to the Military Family Welfare Fund. This amount was used to financially support the families of soldiers.
Boosting the morale of soldiers is the main objective.
The former Municipal President believes that soldiers are our real heroes. While we celebrate festivals safely in our homes, they are guarding the borders. Therefore, as citizens, it is our duty to contribute to their honor. These rakhis, hand-woven by Rupal, are not just a thread, but the love, blessings, and respect of millions of Indians, adorning the wrists of the brave brothers deployed on the border, doubling their morale. Local citizens have also praised Rupal Sadani's service and her patriotism.
