The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the effect of the weather may continue for the next 2 and 3 days. Due to this, schools in Delhi, Gurugram, Noida have been closed, while the Amarnath Yatra has also been stopped. Here, due to rains in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, the situation remains worrisome. Union Home Minister Amit Shah took stock of the situation after talking to the Lieutenant Governors of Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir.

At the same time, an alert has been issued for Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Orange alert has been issued for Punjab, Haryana, UP and East Rajasthan. We have issued a yellow alert for the next 24 hours in Delhi. There is a possibility of heavy rains in Delhi-NCR in the next 24 hours. It will rain here for the next four to five days, but its intensity will be less. There is a possibility of extremely heavy rains in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh in the next 24 hours.
Amarnath yatra pilgrims stranded, red alert in Jammu and Kashmir
While the Amarnath Yatra has been stopped due to rains in Kashmir, hundreds of trucks and pilgrims are stranded on the way due to the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. A red alert has been declared for Kathua and Samba districts as well as for the lower catchment areas. The incessant rains have ruined all the arrangements here.
Over 3,500 policemen deployed amid heavy rains in Delhi
Heavy rains in Delhi led to water-logging in various areas, causing traffic jams across the city. More than 3,500 policemen have been deployed here to facilitate traffic and prevent congestion due to rain. Holiday has been declared in all the schools of Delhi. At the same time, schools will remain closed in NCR as well. IMD has said that it is expected to rain for the next 2-3 days.
Haryana-Himachal Baddi bridge Madhawala washed away due to heavy rains
Due to heavy rains, the Haryana-Himachal Baddi bridge Madhawala connecting Haryana with Himachal was washed away. Himachal's biggest industrial area Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh is now cut off from the rest of the world. Traffic is closed on National Highway Pinjore Baddi Road. The middle part of the bridge has been destroyed by the strong current of the Madhawala river.
