The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave warning for Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. The maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan may increase by 1-3 degrees Celsius during the next 24 hours. There is no hope of relief from heat in these states till May 1. There is no possibility of any significant change in the maximum temperature in the rest of the country.

There is a forecast of rain with thunder and strong winds in Northeast India during the next 7 days. During this time, winds can blow at a speed of 40-50 km per hour. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunderstorms in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on April 26. Heavy rain may occur in Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura on April 28 and 29. Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms may occur in Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

The Meteorological Department said that during 26-29 April, there may be sporadic to light rain with thunder in eastern India and eastern Uttar Pradesh. During this time, strong winds are likely to blow at a speed of 40-50 km per hour to 60 km per hour. Light to moderate rain is expected in Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal on 27 April. Hailstorm is likely in northern interior Karnataka today.
