Heavy rain, which started late last night in Khandwa, has continued unabated this morning. Due to the downpour, a sudden surge of water (flash flood) occurred in the drain at Garbadi village in Killod block, completely disrupting traffic on the Khirkia route. Long queues of vehicles formed on both sides of the overflowing drain, causing significant inconvenience to commuters. Water has also started entering people's homes in the village. Several rivers and streams across the district are in spate.

In view of the heavy rainfall, the district administration has urged people not to attempt crossing the drain until the water flow subsides and to stay in safe locations. Waterlogging has also been reported in several low-lying areas of the region. The local administration is monitoring the situation closely. Khandwa Collector Rishav Gupta stated, "We are fully prepared for the rainfall. Should any emergency situation arise, our police force—including Home Guard personnel and the SDRF—is fully ready to respond."
