Satna, trampling the railway law under its feet, the dominance of favorite contractors is becoming rampant. It is said that although many contractors have tried their luck in the game of vendors supply, but there are some whose influence even today forces the station management and railway police officials to seek refuge. According to the information received from the railway corridor, at present, the one-sided dominance of two contractors is prevailing between Satna Junction Railway Station and Manikpur Station. Giving equal bribes to the police and management officials, both the contractors are running their illegal vendors' shops. If experts are to be believed, the strong network of Chunnu and Munnu Khatik is working continuously. Under the guise of toys, more than four dozen illegal vendors are selling intoxicants to the passengers travelling in trains. In trains, tobacco-containing gutkha, cigarettes as well as other intoxicants are made available on demand. The interference of illegal vendors is an indication that the police system has ended in Satna Junction. Now when the railway administration itself has bowed down to the clinking of coins, then from whom can we expect to make arrangements? The top officials of Jabalpur Railway Division will keep boasting of false arrangements and Satna Junction Railway Station will be in a mess?
Satna Railway Police limited to twenty rupees duty!
Even after the Railway has given legal power to RPF to keep illegal vendors away from the station and trains, the drama is not stopping. Under the guise of this, the police has implemented a system of twenty rupees duty. The Railway Police constable deployed on duty collects twenty rupees duty fee from those selling goods at the station, platform, and agents unloading goods from parcels. No written order for such collection has been issued by the railway. If sources are to be believed, the RPF station collects two thousand rupees every month from an illegal vendor who creates havoc at Satna and Manikpur stations. Apart from this, the licensed contractors running illegal vendors offer a bribe to the station every month. Overall, due to the huge extra income, the railway police is proving to be the biggest helper of illegal vendors. The installment of bribe is delivered by the contractors to the commercial department as well as the station management. Therefore, now Satna Junction Railway Station is running on God's mercy.
