Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at Delhi's Palam Technical Airport. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has come on a state visit to India from 17-18 February. During this visit, the Emir of Qatar is scheduled to meet External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Draupadi Murmu.

On Tuesday morning, the Emir of Qatar will be formally welcomed in the courtyard of Rashtrapati Bhavan, after which he will have a meeting with Prime Minister Modi at 'Hyderabad House'. Various aspects of bilateral relations will be discussed in this meeting.

MoUs will be exchanged on Tuesday afternoon, after which the Emir of Qatar will meet President Murmu. Al-Thani has come to India on the invitation of Prime Minister Modi. Relations between India and Qatar have continuously strengthened in various fields including trade, investment, energy, technology, culture in recent years.
