Punjab chased the biggest score in T20 history

On the basis of a brilliant century by English batsman Jonny Bairstow and a half-century innings by Shashank Singh, Punjab Kings chased the biggest score in T20 cricket history and defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by eight wickets. In the match played at Eden Gardens, Punjab achieved the target of 262 runs given by Kolkata in 18.4 overs.
For Punjab, opening batsman Bairstow played an unbeaten inning of 108 runs with the help of eight fours and nine sixes in 48 balls. At the other end, he was supported by Shashank Singh, who scored 68 runs on 28 balls. Apart from this, at the beginning of the innings, Prabhasimran Singh played an inning of 54 runs in 20 balls and added 93 runs for the first wicket with Bairstow.
At the beginning of the match, Kolkata Knight Riders, batting first, scored 261 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs with the help of half-centuries from Phil Salt and Sunil Narine. Salt scored 75 runs in 37 balls with the help of six fours and six sixes. Whereas Narine played an inning of 71 runs in 32 balls with the help of 9 fours and four sixes.
However, Kolkata's innings slowed down after the wickets of both the set batsmen fell on the score of 163. Venkatesh Iyer (39), Shreyas Iyer (28) and Andre Russell (24) played some important innings but Rinku Singh (5) was out cheaply. For Punjab, Arshdeep Singh took two wickets in four overs. Whereas Sam Curran, Rahul Chahar and Harshal Patel got one success each.
