Lalbarra, in the Tehsil headquarters Lalbarra, today, the three-tier Panchayat representatives submitted a memorandum to the Gram Panchayat Secretary in the name of the Honorable Chief Minister of the state. Giving information about the above, Lalbarra Sarpanch Anees Khan, Gram Panchayat Rampuri Sarpanch Kanhaiya Rahangdale, District Panchayat member Lalbarra Deepak Kavre, Gram Panchayat Nilji Sarpanch Firoz Khan, former member of Lalbarra District Panchayat Shailesh Kekati jointly told that earlier when the then Chief Minister Digvijay Singh was there, many rights were given to the three-tier Panchayat representatives in Madhya Pradesh under the Panchayati Raj Gram Swaraj Act from 1994, but later gradually the rights of the Panchayat representatives have been taken back by the government. Due to which the general public and the real beneficiaries have been deprived of their rights, the villagers are facing a lot of difficulties in doing their work, whereas earlier during the tenure of the then Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, the entire authority used to be with the Gram Panchayat, Janpad Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat, which is not the case today. Earlier, the Gram Panchayat itself used to decide in the meeting that who are the eligible beneficiaries to be given houses, poverty line cards to be made, small disputes to be resolved in the village itself through the Gram Court, pension making, which construction works to be done, all such decisions were decided in the Gram Panchayat, but in the present time these rights have been removed by the government, now the three-tier Panchayat representatives can neither approve the house of any beneficiary nor can they add the name in the poverty line list nor can they approve the construction work, now all the work is done under the process and order, what is to be done in the construction work tied, untied, in which work the amount of the Panchayats is to be spent, all this is done with the issuance of orders, the Gram Panchayat is no longer independent, the interference of officers and employees has increased. Regarding this, today the three-tier Panchayat representatives informed Panchayat Inspector Shri Khilendra Sonvanshi ji and Secretary Gram Panchayat Shri Krishna Pancheshwar ji by submitting a memorandum in the name of the Chief Minister in the Gram Panchayat Pandharwani Lalbarra office in Lalbarra.
Lalbarra Sarpanch Anees Khan told that the state level Panchayat representatives met the former Chief Minister and current Rajya Sabha MP Shri Digvijay Singh ji and demanded the return of the old rights of Panchayati Raj of the year 1994, on which former CM Digvijay Singh ji openly supported the demand of the Panchayat representatives and today on 18 October, he appealed to the Sarpanches of all the Gram Panchayats to give a memorandum of the demand letter to the secretaries in their respective Gram Panchayats. Lalbarra Sarpanch Anees Khan said that former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh is giving full support to restore the old rights of three-tier Panchayat representatives and in the coming time, if the Panch, Sarpanch, Janpad member, District Panchayat members do not get their rights back, then Digvijay Singh will also take part in a big movement along with the Panchayat representatives.
