Congress leader and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra gave her first address in the Lok Sabha on Friday. During this, she spoke on many issues. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra started her address with the Constitution and said that the Constitution is our voice. The Constitution has given us the right to discuss. The Constitution has also given the common man the power to change the government. Debate is an old tradition of dialogue. The Constitution is not just a document, but also a light of justice and hope. Our Constitution guarantees justice. The Constitution is our shield. In the last 10 years, an attempt has been made to break this protective shield, which cannot be accepted at any cost.

Priyanka Gandhi said, 'Our freedom struggle was unique in itself. The fight for independence was also democratic. In which every section of the society participated. This fight gave a voice to the country. This voice was the voice of our courage. Its echo played an important role in writing our Constitution. All of us have to understand that the Constitution is not just a document. Baba Ambedkar, Maulana Azad, Jawaharlal Nehru and many other leaders spent many years in making the Constitution. Our Constitution has given a new identity to every Indian. Our fight for freedom gave us the ability to raise our voice for our rights. When the voice is raised, the power will have to bow down to it. The Constitution has given everyone the right to form and change the government.'

In her address, Priyanka targeted the Modi government at the Center on various issues. She said, 'People in my ruling party make big claims and promises, but till date these people have not fulfilled any of their promises. There is a promise of economic, social and political justice in the Constitution, this promise is a protective shield, the work of breaking which has started. The government is working to weaken reservation through lateral entry and privatization. If these people had been successful in getting the expected results in the Lok Sabha elections, they would have also started working to change the Constitution. In this election, they came to know that only the people of the country will keep this Constitution safe. In this election, while winning and losing, I realized that the talk of changing the constitution will not work in this country.'

In her address, Priyanka Gandhi emphasized on caste census. She said, 'Caste census is very important, so that it can be known what is the current condition of which caste. When the entire opposition raised a strong voice in the election that caste census should be done, their answer was - we will steal buffalo, we will steal mangalsutra. This is their seriousness.'

She said, 'Our constitution laid the foundation of economic justice. Land was distributed to farmers and the poor. Earlier, when the Parliament was in session, there was a discussion on unemployment and inflation. People had expectations that our issues would be discussed in detail in the Parliament, but today this is not seen at all. At that time, the tribals were confident that if there would be any amendment in the documents related to their land, it would be for their welfare, but today it is not seen.'

Taking a dig at the central government, Priyanka Gandhi said, 'Many of our colleagues in the ruling party talk about the past, what Jawaharlal Nehru did. Hey, talk about the present, what are you people doing. What is your responsibility? You people are avoiding your responsibilities by talking about the past, which cannot be accepted at any cost. Agricultural laws were made for industrialists. From Wayanad to Lalitpur, the farmers of this country are crying. When disaster strikes, there is no talk of relief. The farmers of this country are dependent on God today. This government is constantly ignoring the interests of farmers and making laws only for industrialists.'
