Patna, Due to extreme cold, the District Magistrate Patna has completely banned the operation of schools for students of classes 1 to 8 in all government and private schools of the district till January 11. This order will also apply to Anganwadi and play schools.

However, for students above class 9, schools will operate from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. This step has been taken giving priority to the safety of the students in view of the cold.

Patna has been experiencing extreme cold and dense fog for the last few days, which had raised concerns about the safety of the students. The district administration has ordered all schools to make arrangements for school operation keeping in mind the effect of cold during this period.
