President Draupadi Murmu visited Baba Mahakal
Gave the message of cleanliness by sweeping the temple premises
Ujjain. President Draupadi Murmu reached Madhya Pradesh on a one-day visit on Thursday. After reaching Ujjain, she visited and worshipped Mahakal. Before this, she planted a Kadamba tree in the Residency in Indore.
The President also participated in the Swachhata Mitras felicitation ceremony in Ujjain, where she felicitated the Swachhata Mitras. She also performed the Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of Indore-Ujjain six-lane road.
It is my good fortune to honour the sanitation workers: President
At the Swachhata Mitras felicitation ceremony, the President said that it is my fortune to come to Ujjain, the city of Mahakal, and it is my good fortune to honour the sanitation workers here. I thank and salute the Swachhata Mitras on behalf of the entire country. They are frontline warriors. I feel proud to honour them today.
President Draupadi Murmu also performed the Pujan-Abhishek of the Jyotirlinga Mahakal temple with full rituals. The President discussed with the sculptors of the statues to be installed in Shri Mahakal Mahalok and praised them. During this, CM Mohan Yadav announced to give one lakh rupees to each sculptor.
After the worship, the President also swept the premises of the Mahakal temple. Along with him, Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also cleaned the premises.
'MP did wonders in cleanliness, Indore is amazing'
At the Swachhata Mitras felicitation ceremony, the President said that I started public service with cleanliness work. She told that when she was the vice-president in the Municipal Council, she used to go to the wards and inspect the cleanliness. She said that now she feels happy to see the change towards cleanliness in the country.
The President praised Indore for the efforts made for cleanliness and said that the mortality rate of children has come down due to the Swachh Bharat Mission. Madhya Pradesh has done a very good job in cleanliness. Indore is amazing.
Students were honored in Indore
After reaching Indore from Ujjain, the President attended the 14th convocation of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya. Here she awarded 107 gold and silver medals to the students. 147 researchers were awarded degrees. In the ceremony, students and researchers wore traditional Indian costumes with pride. After the ceremony, the President left for Jharkhand.
