Anuppur, Bijuri police of the district received information from an informer that a four-wheeler Tata Yodha pickup registration number MP 65 GA 1799 is transporting illegal foreign liquor from Rajnagar to Mentola toll plaza, on which information, Bijuri police conducted a raid and cordoned off the pickup vehicle and caught it, which was searched. 60 liters of beer and 72 liters of Goa foreign liquor, totaling 132 liters of illegal foreign liquor were recovered from the said pickup vehicle on the spot. In the entire raid, contraband worth ₹900000 was recovered from the accused and the accused Rajesh Kumar Sahu, father Jagannath Sahu, age 35 years, resident of Bazar Dawai Rajnagar and Mahendra Kahar, father late. A case under section 34(2) of the Excise Act has been registered against Karan Singh Kahar, 33 years, resident of Narsinghpur, and investigation is being carried out. The accused have been sent to judicial custody on JR in the Honorable Court. In the said raid, Police Station in-charge Bijuri Inspector Vikas Singh, Sub Inspector Udit Narayan Mishra, Assistant Sub Inspector Pradeep Agnihotri, Assistant Sub Inspector Kamlesh Tiwari, Head Constable 171 Satish Mishra, Constable 504 Laxman Dangi, Constable 528 Prabhakar Tripathi, Constable 304 Ravi Singh and Driver Constable 264 Anil Maravi played a notable role.
