Karnataka police has arrested four people in connection with the stampede in Bangalore. Among them, RCB's marketing head has been arrested. At the same time, three other people have been detained. Royal Challengers Bangalore's marketing head Nikhil Sosale was trying to flee to Mumbai. Karnataka police arrested him from Bangalore airport. Nikhil was arrested from Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport at around 6.30 am. Apart from Nikhil, Sunil Mathew, Kiran and Sumant, members of event management company DNA Entertainment Private Limited, have also been detained. Sunil holds the post of vice president and handles IPL programs for DNA.

The stampede outside Bangalore's Chinnaswamy Stadium took place during the celebrations after RCB won its first IPL. 11 people died in this. Along with this, more than 60 people are reported to be injured. However, officials say that the condition of all the injured remains normal. The families of the victims have blamed the authorities for the stampede.

Case registered under several sections

An FIR was registered under several sections of the Indian Justice Code after 11 people died in a stampede during the celebrations. Four people have been arrested a few hours later. The charges leveled in the FIR also include culpable homicide. According to the FIR, the RCB franchise invited people by announcing the event on social media despite not taking permission from the competent authority. On Thursday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ordered the arrest of representatives of the RCB team, DNA Entertainment Private Limited and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA).

Two KSCA officials arrested

Two officials of the Karnataka State Cricket Association, secretary Shankar and treasurer Jayaram, are absconding. Efforts are on to trace them. Police said they were not found at their homes. Police said the Central Crime Branch, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Akshay, conducted an overnight operation and arrested the accused. The accused may be handed over to the Crime Investigation Department today. On Thursday, CM Siddaramaiah suspended Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayanand and several other senior police officers and Seemant Kumar Singh has been appointed as the new Police Commissioner.
