Katni, Lawyers in Katni suddenly took to the streets this afternoon and blocked the road. They allege that police are filing false cases against lawyers, prompting them to take to the streets and chant slogans against the police. District Bar President Amit Shukla stated that the Katni Superintendent of Police's police team is intent on filing cases against lawyers. Some police officers harbor personal grudges against them and are filing false FIRs against them. Lawyers took to the streets today to protest the ongoing filing of false cases against lawyers. We lawyers had taken a delegation to the District Judge and requested him to talk to the Katni Superintendent of Police. But the Superintendent of Police told the District Judge to send the lawyers to his office. Due to which the lawyers became furious and came out on the road and blocked the road. They started shouting slogans against the Katni Police and the Katni Superintendent of Police. Our demand is that the Katni Superintendent of Police should now come to the court and we lawyers will not go to anyone's office.
O3 The police got information that the lawyers have come out on the road outside the court and have blocked the road, so to ensure that law and order is not disturbed, police from Madhav Nagar and Kotwali police stations are present at the spot.
