Jaipur. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), which is playing brilliantly this season, registered its fourth win of the season by winning by 9 wickets against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Now it has 8 points after playing 6 matches and has reached the third position in the points table. Chasing 174 runs, RCB achieved this target by 9 wickets with 15 balls to spare, thanks to Phil Salt's quick 65 runs in 33 balls and Virat Kohli's unbeaten 62 runs off 45 balls.

Salt hit 6 sixes and 5 fours in his innings, while Kohli, who remained unbeaten till the end, hit 4 fours and 2 sixes in this innings. With a blazing 92-run partnership for the first wicket between the two, RCB easily captured the target of 174 runs. After Salt was out, Kohli took the team to the target with an unbroken 83-run partnership for the second wicket with Devdutt Padikkal (40 not out, 28 balls- 4X5, 6X1).

Rajasthan Royals earlier scored 173 for four with a half-century from opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (75 runs, 47 balls, 10 fours, two sixes). Jaiswal also shared a 56-run partnership for the second wicket with Riyan Parag (30). Dhruv Jurel eventually played an unbeaten 35 off 23 balls with two fours and two sixes to take the team to a challenging score.

Earlier, RCB captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and decided to bowl, after which Jaiswal and Sanju Samson (15) gave the team a cautious start by adding 45 runs in the power play. Jaiswal opened his account with a four on Bhuvneshwar Kumar and then hit a six and a four on consecutive balls of Yash Dayal. Samson, however, was seen struggling and in the power play, he hit the only four on Josh Hazlewood.

After this, captain Samson's patience gave way. He tried to play a big shot on Krunal Pandya's ball and moved ahead of the crease and Jitesh Sharma stumped him. He was able to hit only one four in 19 balls. Jaiswal and Parag then took the innings forward. Parag welcomed Suyash Sharma with two fours and then hit a six over deep midwicket on Krunal.

Jaiswal completed his half-century in 35 balls with a run on Krunal in the 13th over and took the team's score beyond 100 runs with a four in the same over. Yash returned to bowling and gave Rajasthan the second blow by getting Parag caught by Kohli. He faced 22 balls and hit three fours and a six.

Jaiswal was also lucky in Yash's over when Liam Livingstone dropped his catch in the covers. Royals scored 114 runs for two wickets in 15 overs. Jaiswal hit a six and a four on consecutive balls of Hazelwood in the 16th over but in the same over he missed a straight ball and got LBW. Jurel tried to increase the run rate with a six on Suyash and Yash. However, Kohli also dropped his catch on Suyash's ball.
