Saharanpur, Pensioner Day was organized in the new auditorium of Collectorate in the presence of the President and Minister of various pensioner organizations under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue Rajneesh Kumar Mishra and in coordination with Chief Treasurer Vijay Shukla.

On Pensioner Day, various pensioner organizations expressed anger over the absence of Drawing and Disbursing Officers and the memorandums sent mainly mentioned the non-payment of medical reimbursement on time. Mainly problems related to Basic Education Department and Irrigation Department were raised in Pensioner Day. Instructions were given for its immediate resolution. Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue, while addressing the program, directed all the departments that no problem of pensioners should be kept pending because tomorrow we too have to retire. He said that all respected pensioners should be treated politely.
The following points were raised in Pensioner Day. Regarding the demands raised on Pensioner's Day and the facts mentioned in the memorandum dated by Shivraj Singh, S.K. Garg, Subhash Tyagi and Janeshwar Prasad, Isam Singh, Retired Employees and Pensioners Association of Uttar Pradesh, Saharanpur district, the disbursing officers present were ordered that the pension revision and all dues of the employees retiring from their department on the basis of notional salary increment in January and July should be prepared 6 months before their retirement and their payment should be made immediately after their retirement date. For this, it would be appropriate that a register should be maintained in all the offices. In which the personnel retiring in the next 6 months should be mentioned and the pensioners should be treated with courtesy. The names of the disbursing officers who are not present themselves on Pensioner's Day should be brought to the notice of the District Magistrate. The work of matching GPF which is to be done by the Accountant General's office should be done 6 months before retirement. The Chief Treasurer informed all those present in the meeting that no pensioner should fall prey to any kind of cyber fraud because no call is made to any pensioner from the treasury level. No pensioner should share his bank related information. Regarding monetization, it was told that this matter is under consideration at the government level as it is covered by the Hon'ble High Court. All the records of the pensioner are online such as annual pension details and life certificate which can be done online through koshwani.up.nic.in and jeevanpra man.gov.in as well as through the nearest post office and bank.

Dissatisfaction was expressed over non-revision of pension at the level of the head of the office and disbursing officer and non-timely settlement of medical reimbursement claims. The program started with paying tribute to the martyred soldiers who died in the service of the country and the pensioners who died during this period. At the end of the program, Chief Treasurer Vijay Shukla expressed gratitude to all and said that the memoranda received will be referred to the competent level for disposal.
