Police patrolling will be increased in Bihar to instill fear in criminals and control criminal incidents. In populated areas, police will keep an eye on criminal elements in every street and main roads and will take immediate action. On Saturday itself, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, in the course of a detailed review of law and order in the state, has given detailed instructions including intensifying police patrolling, monitoring the patrolling system, making night and foot patrolling effective and conducting surprise inspection of night patrolling. Preparations have been made to implement the guidelines issued by Chief Secretary Amritlal Meena to instill fear in criminals and control criminal incidents.
According to the information, the Police Headquarters has directed that police vehicles being used in both police stations and emergency assistance system (ERS) will be used for patrolling. The total number of police stations in Bihar was 1212. After converting 84 police outposts (OP) into police stations, there are now 1296 police stations in the state. All these police stations already have vehicles available. On the other hand, 1833 vehicles have also been asked to be used for patrolling under ERSS in the state. Thus, more than three thousand vehicles will be used for patrolling in the state.

According to official sources of the Police Headquarters, 550 bikes will be used for patrolling in the narrow and congested streets of the state. This will make it easier to put pressure on criminals. On the instructions of the Police Headquarters, all patrol vehicles will be connected to the state-of-the-art GPS system. So that they can be monitored. Along with this, police officers have also been instructed to conduct surprise inspections.
