This fast bowler made Tovid Hridoy (40) the last victim of his hat-trick. Cummins took a total of 3 wickets in this match and he took all three wickets on his 3 consecutive balls. This is the first hat-trick of this T20 World Cup.

For this hat-trick, he completed this hat-trick by taking wickets on the third and last 2 balls of his spell and then on the first ball of his fourth over. Earlier, when he came to bowl the 18th over of Bangladesh's innings, he dismissed Mahmudullah (2) and Mehdi Hasan (0) on the 5th and 6th balls of the over. He bowled Mahmudullah, while he created history for his country in the T20 World Cup by getting Mehdi Hasan and Tovid caught out.

This is the 7th hat-trick in T20 World Cup history so far. Earlier, Australia's fast bowler Brett Lee had taken a hat-trick in the 2007 T20 World Cup. This was the first hat-trick in T20 World Cup history.
