Pakistan's terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba is being said to be involved in the terrorist attack on an Air Force convoy in Surankot area on Saturday. There is a suspicion that three to four terrorists were involved in the attack, who had laid ambush. The mastermind of the attack is said to be Abu Hamza, who is operating terrorist incidents in the border district Rajouri-Poonch. Steel bullets were used in the attack with the aim of causing more damage. However, no organization has yet taken responsibility for the incident.

At the same time, the search for terrorists continued for the second day on Sunday. Security forces are busy locating the terrorists by surrounding them in a radius of more than 20 kilometers. Helicopters, drones, dog squad and para commandos have been deployed in the search operation. During this period, more than six people have been detained for questioning on the basis of suspicion.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that apart from AK assault rifles, the terrorists also used US-made M4 carbines and steel bullets to cause maximum casualties. After the attack, the attackers ran away and hid in the forest. Jammu KIGP Anand Jain and senior officials of the army and intelligence agencies visited the spot. Officials said that a joint operation of army and police is going on in many areas including Shahsitar, Gursai, Sanai and Sheendara Top to kill the terrorists. The border district of Poonch as well as nearby Rajouri have witnessed major terrorist attacks in the last two years. Terrorism was ended in this region between 2003 and 2021.
