Saharanpur, Senior Subordinate Service (Preliminary Examination 2024) examination was conducted peacefully in two shifts at 26 centers in Saharanpur. In which only 31.94 percent candidates appeared. While the total number of candidates appearing for the examination was 11 thousand 712. Attendance in the first shift was 32.30 percent. Which fell to 31.94 percent in the second shift. 3783 appeared for the examination while in the second shift this number decreased by 0.36 percent. While 7929 candidates were absent in the first shift. In the second shift, the absent candidates increased to 7971. 3741 candidates were present in the second shift. That is, 42 more candidates who appeared for the exam in the first shift skipped the second shift. The number of candidates who appeared for the exam in the second shift was 3741, that is 31.94 percent and 68.06 percent were absent.
District Magistrate Manish Bansal and SSP Rohit Sanjwan, SP City Abhimanyu Manglik, ADM Dr. Archana Dwivedi, Rajneesh Mishra, and other top officials were monitoring the exam.
It is surprising that such a large number of candidates were absent from the exam. Pragya Jain, a candidate from Deoband who failed in the written exam of the Union Public Service Commission, changed his decision to appear in the exam at the last moment. He said that he will appear in the same exam again next year. He has no interest in PCS. Many candidates with the same thinking as Pragya Jain were among the absentees.
The absent candidates included those who have been selected in the written exam of the Union Public Service Commission. According to the District Information Officer Dilip Gupta, no complaint of cheating in the exam was received till the exam was going on. The district administration made very good and safe arrangements for this examination. The candidates did not complain of any kind.
