On Saturday, the SIB team of State Tax reached the Rab Zari Art Readymade Garment firm located in Nagariya Kala of Bareilly posing as customers. The seller handed over a rough bill to the team after buying the saree. Considering it as tax evasion, the officers raided the spot and investigated, and large scale purchases from bogus firms were confirmed. Prima facie, the team has found purchase of goods worth Rs 50 lakh from fake firms. The team has seized clothes worth Rs 43 lakh and deposited Rs 6 lakh as tax. Along with this, many documents have been seized for investigation.

Refused to give bill

On the directions of Joint Commissioner Awadhesh Singh, this raid action on Saturday was carried out by SIB Deputy Commissioner Anirudh Singh, Assistant Commissioner Ved Prakash Shukla, Vikas Mishra. The team members reached the establishment posing as customers. They bought a zari work saree. When they asked for a proper bill, the employees present there refused to give the bill.
