Siliguri | Kolkata, Madhya Pradesh Government's Urban Development and Housing Minister, Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, arrived in West Bengal on Tuesday after nearly five years and participated in a special program organized at the BJP office in Siliguri to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the founding ideological pillar of the Bharatiya Janata Party and a staunch nationalist leader. This event was an important part of the series of birth anniversary year programs being organized by the BJP across the country. Vijayvargiya's visit was planned as part of a pre-determined organizational program. The West Bengal BJP had invited him to participate in the major programs organized on the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. Kailash Vijayvargiya, who has served as the organizational in-charge of the West Bengal BJP for a long time, has a special and cordial relationship with the workers of the state. Therefore, his visit was considered significant from both organizational and emotional perspectives. Upon reaching Siliguri, BJP officials and workers warmly welcomed Vijayvargiya. With traditional respect, he was presented with a bouquet, a shawl, and a memento. A large number of workers present at the venue greeted him, who had arrived among them after a long gap. There was special enthusiasm among the workers on seeing the senior leader. During the programme, Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya paid tribute to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee by offering flowers on his portrait. In his address, he said that Dr. Mukherjee's entire life was dedicated to nationalism, national unity, cultural consciousness and public service. He said that if today India is progressing as a strong and self-confident nation, then Dr. Mukherjee's thoughts and sacrifices have an important role in it. He urged the workers to take a pledge to take Dr. Mukherjee's ideals and thoughts to the last person in the society. While sharing his experience, he said that after almost five years, he felt a special affinity after coming to the holy land of West Bengal. The love, dedication and commitment of the workers here towards the organisation still appears as strong as before. He said that West Bengal is not just a political field for him but an emotionally connected land where he worked for a long time for the expansion of the organization. Senior leaders of West Bengal BJP, state officials, MPs, MLAs and a large number of party workers were present on this occasion. State leader Dr. Shamik Bhattacharya, Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari and many senior officials also remembered the contribution of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and described him as one of the great nation builders of modern India. The speakers said that the struggle led by Dr. Mukherjee for the integrity of the nation and the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir is an inspiring chapter in Indian history. In the series of birth anniversary programs organized at the national level, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to Dr. Mukherjee and said that his life was a symbol of the spirit of nation first and his thoughts continue to inspire crores of Indians even today. In his message, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also remembered the contribution of Dr. Mukherjee in the field of education, industry, national unity and cultural pride and said that his ideals will always remain a guide in realizing the resolve of a developed India. At the end of the program, the workers resolved to follow the ideals of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and make the organization stronger. Kailash Vijayvargiya also called upon the workers to increase public relations, accelerate service works and work continuously for the expansion of the organization while keeping national interest paramount. This presence of Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya in West Bengal after five years was not limited to just a memorial function but it is being seen as an important effort for organizational empowerment of BJP, encouragement of workers and to take the nationalist ideas of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee to the masses.
