Saharanpur, A meeting of the district level committee of NCORD was convened under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Saharanpur Manish Bansal.
The District Magistrate directed that by organizing awareness programs against drug abuse in schools and colleges, the youth should be made aware and the sale of tobacco, bidi, cigarette, gutkha etc. products should be banned around schools. He said that a letter should be immediately sent to the Sub-District Magistrate and the Police Circle Officer to remove the sale of such products near the 22 schools of Nagal and Muzaffarabad development blocks. DM Manish Bansal said that the rules prescribed for the de-addiction centers operating in the district should also be presented in the upcoming meeting. While preventing the purchase, sale and use of narcotic drugs, special emphasis should be laid on making the general public aware of its ill effects and harmful effects. On this occasion, District Excise Officer Mahendra Pratap Singh, District Basic Education Officer Komal, Drug Inspector Ashutosh Choubey along with other departmental officers and excise inspectors were present.
