Jaithari, 24 August 2024 – A gruesome murder case came to light in village Cholna of Jaithari police station area, in which the body of the deceased Janaki Bharia (26 years) was found in a garden in the village. The police showed promptness and exposed this blind murder within 24 hours and arrested the accused.
The police received information from village Cholna at 07 am on 23 August that a woman's rotten body was lying in Vijay Baiga's garden. The police team that reached the spot identified the body as Janaki Bharia, a resident of village Cholna. During investigation it was found that Janaki's husband, Vijay Baiga, had locked the house on the morning of 21 August and left for Anuppur with his two children.
Police inspected the scene of crime and found that the murder was committed in the house of Janaki Bharia. An attempt was made to hide the body in the orchard. During interrogation in the village, it was also revealed that Vijay Baiga used to quarrel and beat his wife after consuming alcohol. The children also stated that on August 20, Vijay Baiga had beaten his wife with a stick.
Police confirmed on the basis of postmortem report that Janaki died due to head injury. Police registered a case against Vijay Baiga under Sections 103(1), 238 BNS and arrested the accused.
During interrogation, Vijay Baiga confessed to the crime and told that his wife had consumed alcohol and had not cooked food for two days, due to which he beat his wife. Janaki died due to head injury, and due to fear he hid the body in the orchard and went to Rampur Khada with the children.
Inspector R.K. of Police Station Jaithari played an important role in solving this heinous murder and arresting the accused. Dharia, Sub Inspector Amarlal Yadav, Sub Inspector Ravi Shankar Gupta, Sub Inspector Maniraj Singh, Head Constable 133 Vinod Patel and M.P.R. 146 Lekhanwati played an important role.
