10 Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. On Tuesday, an official said that Navi Mumbai Police has arrested ten Bangladeshi nationals, including eight women and two men, for illegally living in India without any documents.
Raids in Vashi and Kharghar area
This action was taken after the raids conducted by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Crime Branch in Vashi and Kharghar areas over the weekend. Initial investigation revealed that Bangladeshi men generally work as laborers while women work as domestic help.
All Bangladeshi nationals have been living since 2023 - Mumbai Police
An official said that the arrested Bangladeshi men and women have been living illegally in India since 2023. They failed to produce any proof of Indian citizenship or travel documents. The official said, 'Some of them have been living illegally in India for years.' At present, a case has been registered in Kharghar Police Station under relevant sections of Passport Act and Foreigners Act.
11 arrested for making fake documents in Delhi
Today, 11 people have been arrested for making fake documents related to immigration of Bangladeshis in the country's capital Delhi. These include five Bangladeshis and six local people. The accused used to settle Bangladeshis in India through fake documents like identity card, Aadhaar card. In the case, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Delhi, Ankit Chauhan said that Bangladeshi identity cards (chip based NID card) and birth certificates were found from the arrested people. About 21 Aadhaar cards, four voter ID cards and eight PAN cards were also recovered from the accused. He told that Bangladeshis come to India through the forest. After this, they come to Delhi by train and bus and settle there. A person from Bangladesh has been identified, who used to help them to enter India. At present, his search is on.
