Saharanpur, Divisional Transport Department has acquired more than 1600 vehicles, big and small, for the Lok Sabha elections. The acquired vehicles have been parked at four different places in the metropolis. Polling parties will leave for the booths in these vehicles. The special thing is that the Commission has increased the fare by 12 to 40 percent. Voting for the first phase of elections will be held on Friday. Regarding this, the district administration started giving final touches to the preparations. The Divisional Transport Department has acquired 637 buses and one thousand small vehicles for zonal, sector magistrate and polling parties. Those who were collected on Wednesday at Police Line, Parag Dairy on Janta Road, Maharaj Singh College Ground and ITI Ground on Delhi Road. Vehicles were collected for Assembly Behat, Saharanpur Nagar and Saharanpur Dehat on Janata Road, Parag Dairy, Deoband, Rampur Maniharan, Nakud and Gangoh Assembly at Maharaj Singh College grounds. Similarly, vehicles for zonal and sector magistrates were made to park in the police line. From here the vehicle has been sent to ITI ground, from where allotment will be made to zonal and sector magistrates. Assistant Divisional Transport Officer Enforcement MP Singh said that all the vehicles required for the Lok Sabha elections have been completed. This time the Election Commission has increased the fare by up to 40 percent.
