Bhopal. The monsoon is now fully active across Madhya Pradesh, bringing a spell of continuous rainfall to most parts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued an 'Orange Alert' for heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts today, while a 'Yellow Alert' has been declared for others. Meteorologists predict that the active monsoon system will remain effective until July 5, likely resulting in intense rainfall in many areas. According to the department, a 'Red Alert' for extremely heavy rainfall has been issued for Dhar and Barwani districts for July 3, and there is a forecast of excessive rainfall in Khargone district on July 4. The administration has instructed the concerned districts to remain alert and make necessary preparations. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall is also expected today in Harda, Narmadapuram, Raisen, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Balaghat, Sehore, and Agar-Malwa districts; these areas may witness waterlogging and rising water levels in rivers and streams. A 'Yellow Alert' has been issued for the districts of Bhopal, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Mauganj, Ashoknagar, Dewas, Khandwa, Betul, Sagar, Mandla, Dindori, Jabalpur, and Katni, where moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds is expected over the next three days. The Meteorological Department states that monsoon activity remains strong in the state due to a continuous influx of moisture from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal; consequently, intermittent rainfall is likely to continue in most districts until July 5. A 'Red Alert' for extremely heavy rainfall has been issued for Dhar and Barwani districts for July 3, with a likelihood of heavy rain in neighboring districts as well. A 'Red Alert' will also remain in effect for Khargone district on July 4, with widespread rainfall expected across the Malwa-Nimar region. The monsoon will remain active throughout Madhya Pradesh on July 5, with moderate to heavy rainfall likely to continue in several areas. The Meteorological Department and district administration have urged the public to stay away from rivers, streams, and waterlogged areas, avoid unnecessary travel, and keep track of official weather updates. Farmers have been advised to exercise caution while working in fields and to seek shelter in safe locations in the event of lightning.
