Shahdol, keeping in view the Lok Sabha elections 2024, a press conference was organized today in the Virat Auditorium of the Collector's office in the presence of Collector and District Election Officer Tarun Bhatnagar. In the press conference, the Collector and District Election Officer said that the Model Code of Conduct has become effective in the district for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 and restrictive orders have been issued under Section 144. He said that there will be a complete ban on the use of government vehicles by any political party or political person, i.e. Central Government, State Government, Government authorized undertakings, local bodies, Janpad Panchayat, Marketing Board, cooperative institutions and other public government vehicles. With the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, government vehicles including air-craft and helicopters will not be used by political persons for election campaigning, no one will have monopoly in the use of helipads and meetings in public grounds, all parties Candidates will be given reasonable opportunity, rest houses, guest houses, dock bungalows can be used for stay by persons belonging to Z security category and above, but political activities will not be conducted by them. (Political persons will not be given the facility to stay where observers have stayed), Advertisements from government funds containing details of achievements will be prohibited, During door-to-door campaign, only a group of five persons including candidates, excluding security personnel, will be allowed to visit door-to-door. Permission will be given to conduct home campaign. It was told in the press conference held that as of February 8, 2023, there are a total of 784944 voters in Shahdol district, which includes 399692 female voters, 385243 male voters and 9 third gender voters.
