Katni, In village Padwar, Sleemanabad police station area of Katni district, the mother of a minor girl, who was living with her unmarried lover, was shot with a machete by her daughter's lover when she came to take her back home. Initially, the family took the injured woman to Sleemanabad Government Hospital for treatment, but seeing her critical condition, she was later taken to Sihora and from Sihora to Jabalpur where she is undergoing treatment. The police have started action by recording the statement of the woman.

Sleemanabad SDOP told that a minor youth named Kanha Chaubey, resident of village Padwar of the police station area, was having an affair with the daughter of 35-year-old Shilpa Singh. The daughter of the injured woman, Shilpa Singh, was living at her lover's house for some time. Today, when girlfriend's mother Shilpa Singh reached the minor lover's house to take her daughter back home, minor Kanha refused to send his girlfriend back. There was a dispute between the two regarding this matter and minor youth Kanha opened fire on his girlfriend's mother Shilpa Singh with a pistol. The bullet hit the woman near her chest, her condition is said to be critical. The police have started the proceedings by recording the statement of the woman.11
