Meeting held to promote agricultural export in Saharanpur district
Instructions given to issue Certificate of Origin of Basmati rice from the district itself

Saharanpur. A meeting was organized in the Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Saharanpur Manish Bansal to promote agricultural export in the district. In the meeting, District Magistrate Manish Bansal directed DDM NABARD to coordinate with CISH Lucknow and continuously follow up the process to get GI tag for Chaunsa mango of the district. He directed to issue Certificate of Origin of Basmati rice being exported from the district itself so that the export of Basmati rice can be included in the export of the district. For this, he directed the Mandi Secretaries to hold a meeting with the traders exporting Basmati. DM Manish Bansal directed to hold a separate meeting with the Khandsari Department to create a cluster of sugarcane for the export of jaggery. He directed Deputy Director Agriculture Dr. Rakesh Kumar to get the FPO registered on the page of Uttar Pradesh FPO Shakti Portal to prepare the FPO for export. In the meeting, the approval of the proposed mango cluster of Mokshaarth Farmer Pvt. Ltd. from the district was approved. Senior Agricultural Marketing Inspector Sunil Som informed the farmers, FPOs and exporters present about the agricultural export policy. He gave complete information about the process of applying for the incentives given under the Agricultural Export Policy of agricultural produce, the documents to be submitted and the online module available on the website. He also informed the FPOs and exporters about the government schemes and the standards and parameters set for availing their benefits. Mandi Secretary Suman Bharti, Deputy Agriculture Director Dr. Rakesh Kumar, DDM NABARD Saad Bin and other officials, farmers, FPOs and exporters were present in the meeting.
