Summer special train to run between Jammu and Prayagraj; several trains cancelled on the Ghaziabad-Saharanpur section
New Delhi, In view of the summer holidays and the rising number of passengers, Indian Railways has taken significant decisions for passenger convenience. While a special summer train has been announced between Jammu Tawi and Prayagraj Sangam, several trains have been cancelled on the Ghaziabad-Saharanpur rail section due to maintenance work. Additionally, daily commuters have received major relief as the proposed non-interlocking work on the Bandikui-Idgah rail route has been postponed for now.
Special train to run between Jammu Tawi and Prayagraj Sangam
To accommodate the extra passenger rush during the summer holidays, the Railways has decided to operate a weekly summer special train between Jammu Tawi and Prayagraj Sangam.
Train No. 04112 (Jammu Tawi - Prayagraj Sangam)
This special train will operate every Tuesday and Saturday from June 9 to September 29, 2026. The train will depart from Jammu Tawi at 11:30 AM and reach Prayagraj Sangam via the Saharanpur and Moradabad route.
Train No. 04111 (Prayagraj Sangam - Jammu Tawi)
In the return direction, this train will run every Monday and Friday from June 8 to September 28, 2026. Departing from Prayagraj Sangam at 12:10 PM, the train will reach Jammu Tawi via the Aligarh and Bulandshahr route.
According to railway officials, this special service will provide added convenience to passengers traveling between major religious and tourist destinations in North India.
Relief on the Bandikui-Idgah rail route
There is welcome news for daily commuters traveling on the Idgah-Bandikui rail section. The railway administration has postponed the proposed non-interlocking work on this route for the time being. Rail services on the Idgah-Bandikui-Idgah route were scheduled to be affected from June 11 to June 26; however, due to the postponement of the work, train operations will continue as usual. This will bring relief to thousands of daily commuters.
Traffic Block on Ghaziabad-Saharanpur Rail Section
Meanwhile, a special traffic block will be imposed on the Ghaziabad-Saharanpur rail section on June 19 and 20 to replace the steel girder of Bridge No. 61 with a PSC slab. Operations of several important trains will be affected during this period.
According to the Railways, some trains have been fully cancelled due to this work, which is being undertaken to strengthen safety and infrastructure.

The Railways has urged passengers to verify the status of their trains before setting out on their journey on June 19 and 20. Passengers can obtain up-to-date train information via the railway helpline number 139, the official website, or the NTES (National Train Enquiry System) app.
The Railways states that once the repair work is completed, train operations on the affected section will become safer and smoother.
