Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called the second cabinet meeting of his third term. Many big decisions have been taken in the meeting. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave information about the cabinet decisions. He said that the cabinet has approved the minimum support price (MSP) on 14 Kharif crops including paddy, ragi, millet, sorghum, maize and cotton. Ashwini Vaishnav said, 'Today a very important decision has been taken in the cabinet for farmer welfare. The cabinet has approved MSP on 14 crops for Kharif crop. The new MSP of paddy has been made Rs 2,300, which is Rs 117 more than the previous MSP.'

On the new MSP of Kharif crops, Ashwini Vaishnav said, 'With today's decision, farmers will get about two lakh crore rupees as MSP. This is Rs 35000 crore more than the last season.
