Major action by Katni Barwara Police
64 kg ganja worth Rs 10 lakh recovered from three women

Katni, Barwara Police of Katni has taken a major action and has succeeded in recovering 64 kg ganja worth about Rs 10 lakh from three women on Barwara Tola Station Road.
Additional SP Dr Santosh Dehriya said that Superintendent of Police Abhijeet Kumar Ranjan had directed for effective action against illegal drug smuggling. In compliance with which, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Santosh Dehriya and DSP Headquarters Umrao Singh, the informer system was activated against those smuggling illegal drugs. Under the guidance of senior officers, keeping in view the upcoming festival, it was directed to conduct combing patrol in the area. Meanwhile, on 29 September 2, during the combing patrol by Sub Inspector Vikram Singh along with his staff, three women were found standing on the roadside near Barwar Tola Station Road turn with plastic bags in their hands. She got scared on seeing the police coming from the front. When the behavior of the above three women seemed suspicious, their name and address were asked from all three women, who told their names as Jagrahi Pardhi age 25 years resident of Mahua Kheda police station Shahnagar district Panna, Binni Pardhi age 28 years resident of Mahua Kheda Bana Shahnagar district Panna, Khaddi Pardhi age 24 years resident of Hardua Bana Rethi district Katni. They were duly searched by woman constable Pooja Tyagi. The plastic sacks found in the possession of the above three women were checked, and when a total of 65.640 kg of illegal drug ganja was recovered from four plastic sacks, duly action was taken on the spot. The total value of the seized ganja is 9 lakh 84 thousand rupees. Action was taken against the above three women under the NDPS Act. The three accused women are being questioned as to where and to whom they were taking the ganja.
