According to the information, a part of the bridge connecting Anand and Padra fell into the Mahisagar river on Wednesday morning. According to initial information, four vehicles including two trucks, a Bolero SUV and a pickup van were crossing the bridge when it suddenly collapsed and many vehicles fell into the Mahisagar river. 10 people have died in this accident.

Eyewitnesses said that a loud sound was heard before the vehicles fell into the river. The fire brigade, local police and Vadodara district administration reached the spot and immediately started rescue operations. Local people also helped in removing the injured from the debris. So far three people have been rescued and admitted to nearby hospitals.

Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi expressed grief over the bridge accident. The Gambhira bridge located on the Mahisagar river connects Central Gujarat and the Saurashtra region of the state. The bridge is located near Padra city in the district. At the same time, a local resident said, this bridge is not only dangerous in terms of traffic accidents, but many incidents of suicide have also taken place here. Repeated warnings were given about its condition, but the administration did not pay attention.
