Gwalior, during Ganesh festival in Gwalior, the biggest statue of Gwalior city, which is 25 feet high and the district's tallest 25 feet Ganesh statue, fell down and broke due to a pothole on the road. This statue was to be installed in Shinde's cantonment Khallasipura of the city. On Saturday night at 12 o'clock, the members of the Bhakta Mandal left with the Ganesh statue from Jiwajiganj. In 20 hours, they were able to bring the statue only 2 kilometers while avoiding electric wires and potholes on the road, on Sunday night at 8 o'clock, the statue fell down near Nawab Saheb's well due to bad road and potholes and broke. Some people have been injured by being buried under the statue, but no one came forward. There was a ruckus after the incident. Those who installed the Ganesh statue blocked the road and insisted on filing an FIR against those responsible for the pothole. The ruckus continued for 2 hours. After this, the police arrived and arranged for the immersion of the broken idol and assured to take action on all their demands.
Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar reached the spot and pacified the people and assured to take action against the culprits.
