Satna, Yogi government has introduced the UP Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion (Amendment) Bill 2024 in the Assembly on Monday. According to this, there is a provision to give life imprisonment to the culprits of crimes like love jihad. Apart from this, there is a provision to double the punishment in already defined crimes. Welcoming the bill of the Yogi government, former department convener of Bajrang Dal, Hindu leader Mahesh Tiwari said that such a law is definitely beneficial for the society. The way the sisters of the last line of our society are lured and converted and love jihad is carried out and later they are even murdered, this law will curb such heinous crimes. Mr. Tiwari said that in the last 20 years, many incidents of love jihad have come to the fore in the religious town of Maihar. When we intervened in those incidents and demanded action from the administration, then action was taken but after 3 months the accused were released and started carrying out the same incident again, but if action is taken under such a law, then people will think a thousand times before carrying out a love jihad incident again. Mahesh Tiwari has also demanded the implementation of such laws in the country and other states so that crimes like love jihad going on in the country can be completely eradicated.
