Shahdol, The process of action against corrupt officers and employees is continuing in Shahdol district. Lokayukta is continuously arresting such corrupt officers. Despite this, the bribe taking officials are not desisting from their activities. In a similar case of assault, the Rewa Lokayukta team has caught the head constable red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 2000 in lieu of bail from the police station. This bribe money was being taken through a middleman who has also been caught by the Lokayukta team. In this entire case, the husband of a female constable posted at Papaundh police station was also involved in taking bribe. The said private person works as a broker in the police station.

Complainant Ramnaresh Jaiswal, resident of village New Sapta police station Papondh district Shahdol, had come to Lokayukta office Rewa and lodged a complaint that he had a dispute with Amritlal Jaiswal of the same village on January 5, for which he had gone to the police station to file a report but was stopped by the head constable in the police station. His report was not filed whereas a report was filed against him on behalf of accused Amritlal. In the same case, he had asked Head Constable Anil Sharma to grant him bail, in return for which Head Constable Anil Sharma demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000. After receiving the complaint regarding this matter, Lokayukta SP Gopal Singh Dhakad got the complaint verified and today formed a 15 member team under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police Praveen Singh Parihar Inspector Pramendra Kumar. Trap action was taken and it has been told that head constable Anil Sharma was taking this bribe money through his private person Pawan Singh resident of Bahadurpur tehsil Lalganj district Rae Bareli Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the team of Lokayukta arrested both of them. It is said that Lokayukta Police has registered a case against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act and is taking further action.
