'Life imprisonment for illegal liquor makers, all officers will be dismissed'
If Pappu Yadav comes to power, he will bring a new law
Amidst the continuous deaths due to illegal liquor in Bihar, Pappu Yadav has promised that if he ever comes to power, he will bring a new law to stop illegal liquor. This law will have a provision of life imprisonment against those who make and sell illegal liquor. Along with this, all the officers of the area where liquor is being sold will be dismissed.
Independent MP from Purnia Pappu Yadav said, "When the government changes the policy from time to time, then why does it not make any law in the case of illegal liquor? If I ever come to power, the first thing I will do is to sentence the person who makes and sells illegal liquor to life imprisonment and dismiss all the officers of that area."
35 deaths due to illegal liquor in Bihar
35 people have died due to drinking illegal liquor in Bihar. This figure is continuously increasing. According to local police officials, more than 25 people are still battling for their lives in various hospitals in Siwan, Saran and Patna. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Saran Range Nilesh Kumar said on Friday, "So far 28 people have died due to consumption of suspected illegal liquor in Maghar and Auria panchayats of Siwan district. Seven people have also died in Ibrahimpur area of Mashrakh police station area of Saran district due to consumption of suspected illegal liquor."
15 people arrested
The identity of the deceased and those undergoing treatment has not been revealed yet. Police have so far arrested about 15 people in connection with the incidents in both the districts. After the incident, the administration of both the districts has suspended three chowkidars of Maghar, Auria and Ibrahimpur areas. Another senior police officer said that at least five policemen have been issued 'show cause' notices.
