New Delhi, People grappling with scorching heat and blistering heatwaves are finally finding relief. Heavy late-night rainfall across various parts of the country, combined with cool morning breezes, has made the weather pleasant. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), weather patterns are shifting rapidly from North to South India due to an active Western Disturbance and the swift advance of the Southwest Monsoon. Consequently, there is a likelihood of rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms in several regions.

Weather takes a turn in Delhi-NCR

Delhi-NCR has witnessed a sudden change in weather over the past 24 hours. A significant drop in temperature has been recorded following rain accompanied by dust storms and thunderstorms. Strong winds are expected to prevail throughout the day in North Delhi, Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad.

Monsoon gains momentum

In a welcome development for the country, the Southwest Monsoon continues to advance. It has reached Northeast India, the entirety of Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and parts of Bihar. Meteorologists state that conditions are favorable for the monsoon to progress into the remaining areas of Jharkhand and Odisha over the next two to three days. Meanwhile, continuous rainfall persists in the coastal regions of Kerala and Karnataka.
