Punjab, former CM of Punjab and patron of Shiromani Akali Dal Parkash Singh Badal has passed away on Tuesday around 8 pm. While giving information, sources have told that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can reach Chandigarh today at 12 noon to pay tribute to Badal. His body has been kept for the last darshan today. On Thursday, the last rites of former CM Badal will be performed in his village Badal.

Paying tribute to Badal by tweeting, PM Modi wrote – The death of Mr. Parkash Singh Badal is a personal loss for me. I have interacted closely with him for decades and learned a lot from him.
Political personalities paid tribute to Badal
Apart from PM Modi, all political personalities including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, senior BJP leader LK Advani, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann have paid tribute remembering Badal. The Central Government has announced national mourning on two days (26 and 27 April) on the death of former CM Parkash Singh Badal. During this, the national flag will remain half-tilted. At the same time, the Punjab government has also announced a holiday in honor of Badal. There will be a public holiday in Punjab on 27th April.
