Tehri Garhwal, Landslide in Bal Ganga and Budha Kedar of Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand has caused heavy destruction in Toli village. Heavy rain last night in Toli village of Patti Budha Kedar Gram Panchayat in Bhilangana block caused a massive landslide behind a house in which a mother and daughter were buried alive. The video of the landslide has also surfaced which is shocking. In view of the disaster situation, the district administration has alerted all the concerned departments of the area.

Two people died due to being buried under debris

According to the information, around 12 o'clock in the night, due to a landslide behind the house of villager Virendra Shah, the wall behind the house broke and debris came inside. Victim Virendra Shah told that he was sleeping in a room with his wife Sarita (36) years and daughter Ankita (16) years. Suddenly a huge amount of debris came from behind the house due to which both his wife and daughter got badly trapped in the debris. Somehow he saved his life and came out and called the nearby villagers but could not come out due to heavy rain in the area.

12 animals also died

It is being told that 12 animals died in Toli village. Along with this, traffic was blocked due to damage to Government Junior High School Tingarh and debris on Budhakedar-Tingarh-Jakhana Ring Road. Drinking water lines and electricity supply have been disrupted. The District Magistrate has instructed all the concerned officials to form their own teams and stay in the village and repair all the arrangements.

Tingarh village was evacuated

After evacuating Tingarh village, more than 50 people have been shifted to temporary relief camps. The District Magistrate has inspected the school and instructed the concerned officials to make arrangements for food for all the people three times a day, milk for children, pure drinking water, cleanliness, and doctor. Along with this, arrangements have been made for a separate room for women.

People shifted to temporary relief camp

The District Magistrate said that there are about 80 families in the village, out of which more than 50 have been shifted to Government Inter College Vinaykhal for alternative arrangement. Along with this, the officials of the Agriculture Department, Public Works Department, Health Department, Irrigation, etc. departments of the area have been instructed to assess the damage caused in the area soon and provide the report to the district administration.

CM Dhami issued this order

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey and District Officer Tehri Garhwal Mayur Dixit to carry out relief and rescue operations effectively on the damage caused by heavy rains and landslides in Bal Ganga and Budha Kedar of Bhilangana development block of Tehri Garhwal. Expressing grief over the incident, the Chief Minister has asked the Minister in-charge of Tehri, Premchand Aggarwal, to visit the spot and review the relief and rescue work.
