Kotwali police took big action against cricket betting
Success in arresting 05 members of the gang from Mumbai, 05 mobiles, 01 tab, 01 laptop, 07 passbooks, 03 ATMs and accounts worth lakhs seized

Information was received from an informer at the police outpost bus stand under Katni Kotwali that a person is playing online cricket betting on his mobile near Calvara gate. Taking immediate action on the information received, the police team reached the spot and identified Bharat Mulchandani, son of Ashok Kumar Mulchandani, age 36 years, resident of Shanti Nagar Madhavnagar. On checking the suspect's mobile phone, he was found to be playing online betting on the cricket match between Sri Lanka and India Women's team on an online ID named HUNTEREXEH. On questioning Bharat Mulchandani, he told that he has taken the online ID from Bhagwan Das alias Harish Prithani. Crime number 396/25, Section 4A Satta Act 49 BNS was registered against the accused in Kotwali police station under Section 4A Satta Act and investigation was taken up. During investigation and technical analysis, information was received that accused Bhagwan Das alias Harish Prithani was in Mumbai. A team was formed by the Superintendent of Police and sent to Mumbai. The team searched for the accused under Thane Mumbai's Rabodi police station. Where 5 people were found operating online cricket betting by renting a flat in a posh area. 01 laptop, 01 tab, 05 mobile phones, 07 passbooks of different banks, 03 ATM cards and 02 registers were recovered from their flat which were being used for online betting and which contained account numbers and transaction related information worth about 20 lakhs.
