Kolkata, Hearing on the case of brutality with a female doctor in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital started behind closed doors in Kolkata's Sealdah court from Monday. According to information received from court sources, on the first day, the statements of the deceased's father and his neighbor were recorded as witnesses.

Court proceedings lasted for three hours

It is known that after the incident came to light, this neighbor introduced himself as the deceased's uncle. The main accused in the case, civic volunteer Sanjay Rai, was also presented in the court. Court proceedings went on for about three hours.

On coming out of the court, the deceased's father and the neighbor refused to say anything as the case was pending. It is known that the hearing on this case will be held daily except on holidays. There are a total of 51 witnesses in this case. Gradually, statements of all of them will be recorded.

The then police commissioner framed me as the main accused

On the other hand, while being taken back to the prisoners' van after the hearing in the court, the main accused Sanjay Rai shouted and declared himself innocent again. He said that Vineet Goyal, the former commissioner of Kolkata Police, and the special deputy commissioner of the intelligence department of Kolkata Police have conspired to frame him in the case.

The state government has also supported him. It is known that Vineet Goyal has been removed by the Mamata government on the demand of junior doctors. Vidit Raj Bundesh is on the post of Special Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence Department of Kolkata Police.

Symbolic statue of the dead doctor was broken

An incident of breaking the symbolic statue of the dead doctor installed in Calcutta Medical College has come to light. The statue was prepared and placed there as a protest against the RG Kar scandal. It has been broken by unknown people. A case has not been registered with the police yet.

A nursing student attempted suicide in the hostel of RG Kar Medical College. According to the information received, she tried to commit suicide after an argument with her roommate on Saturday night over turning off the lights. There are injury marks on her hand as well. It is said that she tried to commit suicide by cutting her wrist vein when she was alone in the room.

The police of Tala police station has started investigating the case.
