Pradosh fast is observed on Trayodashi Tithi of every month, hence it is also called Trayodashi fast. This fast is dedicated to Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva. According to religious texts, by observing this fast, a person gets the blessings of long life and happy life. There are a total of 24 or 25 Pradosh fasts in a year. There are two Pradosh fasts every month, one of which comes in Shukla Paksha and the other in Krishna Paksha. This fast is considered special for the worship of Lord Shiva.
