Visited Schools, Interacted with Students, Assured Immediate Action on Confidential Information
Khandwa. In a significant initiative to further strengthen the safety of women and girls, Khandwa Police has formed a 'Nirbhaya Team' under the leadership of Inspector Sulochana Gehlot, in-charge of the Women's Police Station. Formed on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Mr. Agam Jain, this team will regularly visit schools, colleges, and public places to communicate with students and women and ensure effective action to prevent crimes.
In this sequence, the Nirbhaya Team visited various schools in the district and interacted directly with the students. The team gathered information from the students regarding difficulties they face while commuting to and from school, stalking, molestation, attempts to force communication, the presence of anti-social elements around schools, drug sales, and other suspicious activities.
Police officers assured the students that any information they provide will be kept completely confidential and that immediate and effective action will be taken on every complaint and information. Students were encouraged to contact the women's police station or the police without any fear or hesitation.
During the awareness program, students were also informed about laws related to women's safety, prevention of cybercrime, safe use of social media, and ways to seek police assistance in emergencies. The team advised them not to ignore any type of harassment or crime and to immediately report it to the police.
Superintendent of Police, Mr. Agam Jain, stated that the safety of women and girls is a top priority for the Khandwa Police. The Nirbhaya team will regularly visit educational institutions and public places to assess security arrangements and ensure prompt action on any confidential information received.
Khandwa Police have also appealed to citizens to immediately report any matter related to the safety of women and girls to the police. Only through the joint participation of police and general public can crimes be effectively curbed and a safe and fear-free environment can be established in the society.
