Katni, NKJ Police of Katni district has seized goods worth more than one crore rupees while taking a major action against the illegal drug Ganja. The seized ganja is 325 kg whose estimated value is said to be Rs 58 lakh 50 thousand.

Superintendent of Police Abhijeet Kumar Ranjan said that in order to conduct peaceful voting in the context of Assembly elections 2023, all the police station in-charges have been directed to take continuous action to completely curb illegal activities. Due to which Inspector Neeraj Dubey police station in-charge NKJ Katni along with Hamrah staff had set out to tour the area. During the tour, he got information from the informer that a truck container was standing in a suspicious condition at a deserted place on Juhli Road near Sarpanch Dhaba. As soon as the information was received, the station in-charge along with the police staff reached the spot. Seeing the police, both the driver and conductor sitting in the container vehicle got down from the container and started running away, who were caught after laying siege. Both the persons were asked his name and address and when asked the reason for running away, they did not give any satisfactory answer. Both the accused gave their names as Rajesh Jaiswal (conductor), resident of village Mahsav, police station Gud, district Rewa and the driver gave his name as Deepu alias Sandeep Yadav, resident of village Badora, police station Rampur Baghelan, district Satna. When we searched for the truck container, a strange pungent smell was coming from the truck. On checking, 13 sacks were found inside the secret chamber of the truck, which when opened was found to be the illegal drug ganja. The ganja was weighed and seized by the police and both the accused were arrested. Against whom a case was registered under NDPS Act in NKJ police station. The same seized truck (container) number MH. 40 bl 2658 Total price Rs 45,00,000/- Cash Rs 6100/-, Android and 01 keypad mobile Rs 12.000/-. The total value of the said seized goods is Rs 1,03,68,100.
