Katni, NKJ Police has seized a huge quantity of ganja from a truck container. The drugs were kept in sacks filled with 13 pieces inside the secret chamber built in the truck. The police took action under the NDPS Act and arrested the accused. According to the information received in this regard, the police received information from the informer that the truck container number MH40BL 2658 is standing in a suspicious condition at a deserted place on Juhli Road near Sarpanch Dhaba. After verifying the information, the police reached the spot. Seeing the police, both the driver and the conductor of the container vehicle got down from the container and started running away, who were caught after encircling them.

On asking the name and address, both the accused gave their names as Rajesh Jaiswal, conductor father, Rambhan Jaiswal, age 35 years, resident of village Mahsav police station, Gud district, Rewa and driver Deepu alias Sandeep Yadav, father late. Ramsukh Yadav, aged 27 years, resident of village Badora, police station Rampur Baghelan district Satna, was said to be a resident. On searching the truck container, a strange smell was coming from the truck, which on checking was found to contain 13 sacks filled inside the secret chamber of the truck, which when opened were found to contain the illegal drug Ganja, which was weighed and seized. The accused were arrested and a case was registered under Section 18/20 NDPS Act. 325 kg of illegal drug Ganja worth Rs 58 lakh 50 thousand, 1 truck container number MH40BL 2658 total value Rs 45 lakh were recovered from the accused. And cash worth Rs 6,100, 1 Android and 1 keypad mobile worth Rs 12,000 were seized. The total value of the seized goods was Rs 1 crore 3 lakh sixty eight thousand.

It is also noteworthy that Katni police, by continuously taking action against the illegal drug ganja, registered 62 cases against 83 accused from January 01, 2023 till date and seized 462 kg of ganja worth Rs. 64,15,500/- from the accused, along with In the same case, 1 truck, 2 Swift cars, 1 XUV car, 5 two-wheelers totaling Rs 71,50,000/- have also been seized.
