Katni City Mahila Congress's Attack
Effigies of MP Kangana and Union Minister Prahlad Joshi burned
Katni, Following the instructions of the top leadership of the Madhya Pradesh Mahila Congress, Congress workers, led by Katni City Mahila Congress President and State General Secretary Rajni Verma, staged a fierce protest against the policies of the Central Government and the Bharatiya Janata Party. Dozens of Congress leaders and officials gathered to symbolically burn effigies of both leaders in protest against the controversial statements and attitudes of Himachal Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut and Union Minister Prahlad Joshi.
Addressing the protest, City Mahila Congress President Rajni Verma said that MP Kangana Ranaut's calling the students protesting at Jantar Mantar "gutter" and labeling them uneducated and uncivilized is highly condemnable.
In independent India, every citizen has the freedom of expression. Even if there was a mistake in communicating with the students, they are the future of our country. But Kangana Ranaut and BJP leaders have never been seen speaking out against their ministers and leaders with criminal backgrounds who are involved in serious crimes against women.
— Rajni Verma, President (Katni City Mahila Congress)
Rajni Verma said that while the BJP government makes tall claims about women's empowerment, on the other hand, the perpetrators of heinous crimes like the Bilkis Bano case are welcomed upon their release from jail. This reflects the BJP's double standards and cronyism. The Mahila Congress will not tolerate this deception and will continue to hold the BJP accountable across the country.
